Hillsboro Senior CenterHope everyone had a great Labor Day holiday.
Donna Becker from Harry Hynes will have the program Sept. 8 and Katie Dexter from the Home Buddy Medical System will be here Sept. 9.
For those interested in attending, the Kansas State Fair begins Sept. 10.
The Hillsboro Senior Center Board of Directors will meet at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 13.
Haris Zafar, who provides hearing aids, will be at the center Sept. 15.
Commodities can be picked up at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 17 for those eligible to receive them.
We encourage everyone to stop by the center and enjoy food and fellowship. In addition, we still need volunteers.
Anyone who might be able to help is encouraged to call us at 947-2304.

hillsboro senior centerThank you to all who came out for our ice cream social fundraiser. We had a great turnout.
This week’s programs include foot care with Mary McFadden from Peabody Thursday, Sept. 2 and at 12:30 p.m. special music will be presented by Rod Koons.
The center will be closed for the Labor Day holiday, Monday, Sept. 6.
Andy Birdstall will be here at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 7 to talk about Medicare.
Everyone is invited to join us for a great meal and any of the programs scheduled.
Volunteers are still needed and so are drivers for the Meals on Wheels program.
Anyone who might be able to help is encouraged to call us at 947-2304.
Commodities will be ready for pick up at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at the center.

hillsboro senior centerEveryone is grateful for the rain and cooler temperatures late last week.
Remember to mark your calendars for 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, for the center’s ice cream social and fundraising event with special instrumental music by Bob Delk & the Boys from Hillsboro.
Come and support our center for great music and fellowship.
A representative from Hospice, Rhona Schler, will visit the center at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 25. She will be talking about advance directives and will have forms for those interested.
In celebration of everyone who has a birthday in August, the center is having its birthday lunch Aug. 30.

Come and support our center, it will be a great time.
No carry-in meal is scheduled this month, and instead, will have our regular meal today (Aug. 18).
Programs for the remainder of August include Nancy Pihl from the Marion County Extension office at 12:30 p.m. today to talk about nutrition. At 11 a.m., a hearing aid check is available with Harris Zafar, Audiology and Hearing Aid Services in Wichita.

hillsboro senior centerThis is National Smile Week, so give someone a great smile.
Anna Woods, Woods Wellness, will be here at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 11.
Ronda Bowles of Wichita with Hill-Rom, providing hospital beds and other medical equipment at home, will be visiting at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 12.
Show & Tell school memories will be Aug. 16, and everyone is encouraged to mark their calendar for the ice cream social fundraising event starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27. The cost is $5 or more donation to help our senior center.
Also at the fundraiser will be Bob Delk and the Boys, a local instrumental group, will provide musical entertainment at 7 p.m.
